Last week our Central Tennessee Mine Rescue Team competed at the Southeast Regional Mine Rescue Contest in Dandridge, TN.

This 3-day contest features a written test, a field simulation along with specific tests on first aid, gas detection and self-contained breathing equipment knowledge.

The teams are scored throughout the competition; a perfect score is a zero. The RGI team scored a 522 on the first day of the mine disaster problem but vastly improved to a 179 on the second day. The final event in the competition was an Ironman competition, which tested the team’s endurance while wearing full rescue equipment.

The team made RGI very proud at the event!

Congratulations to the team, we look forward to seeing you compete in the future!
