Kentucky Operations

Our presence in Kentucky dates back to the 1930s

Our presence in Kentucky dates back to the 1930s. Today, we operate four asphalt plants and eight quarries, employing well over 200 individuals throughout the state.

Central Kentucky: Crushed Limestone

Over the past 10 years, Rogers Group quarries located in central Kentucky (Jefferson County Stone, Bullitt County Stone, and Oldham County Stone) have been awarded National Stone Sand & Gravel Association awards for Community Relations and Environmental Excellence. Recent Rogers Group projects include the Abraham Lincoln Bridge and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge. These incredible bridges carry I-65 traffic over the Ohio River in Louisville.

While we’re pleased to do our part to keep traffic moving, we’re perhaps most proud of our community involvement with projects such as the St. Mary’s Center Rock Drop and the Metro Louisville District 19 cleanup projects.

An interesting, little-known fact: Louisville Crushed Stone, a former Rogers Group quarry in use for more than 40 years during the middle of the 20th century, is now home to one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, the Mega Cavern! Covering nearly 100 acres, the Mega Cavern is classified by the Metro Louisville Government and the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a building. In fact, it’s the largest building in Kentucky!

Western Kentucky: Crushed Stone & Road Construction

We are proud to offer a wide range of crushed stone and asphalt products as well as road construction services to communities throughout western Kentucky. Our Hopkinsville location has earned multiple community relations and Kentucky Crushed Stone Association Safety Awards, and our construction crews were awarded the 2018 Quality in Construction Award for their mill and overlay project on the Campbell Army Airfield Main Runway in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.

Rogers Group has been involved in the Pennyrile Parkway Extension to I-24, I-68 and I-80 in Trigg County, the Fort Campbell runway, and the Kentucky & Barkley Lake Bridge project at Land Between the Lakes.

Our company is deeply invested in the western Kentucky community and has been a sponsor for the Christian County Military Affairs Salute to Fort Campbell. We happily provided paving services to the United Way of Pennyrile and paved the basketball court for the Hopkinsville Boys & Girls Club.
